Finally made it to DERU and it did not disappoint. The place has a fun atmosphere with a cozy patio that’s perfect for hanging out. Our servers were genuinely warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The yam fries and garlic knots were instant favorites, and the pizzas tasted fresh with great ingredients. The mushroom pizza leaned a bit heavy on garlic, I personally would’ve loved a little more goat cheese to balance it out. And the cake… wow. The slice was huge and absolutely decadent. We had such a great time and are already looking forward to coming back to explore more from the menu.
Always mean to check this place out- nestled in the streets of kirkland you could almost drive by and miss this local place. not much to look at especially from outside. Inside I was greeted by delicious looking pastries and a friendly hostess - no seats other than counter. it was ok had to order and pay off app- a bit impersonal. place was packed at 11 AM with mostly female chatty clientele. Since I don’t eat gluten options were limited- salads and soup. Also tried the sweet potato with hummus which tasted great. Indulged in the one gf sweet ( pb oat cookie). it was just ok. They had nice sandwich’s and could have at least an offer for gf bread ( i’m not celiac but intolerant so ok with cross contamination)
A little bit of a wait but totally worth it! Such a cute environment and aesthetically pleasing. Food was great, you order off a QR code, service was very prompt and incredible coffee. Wish the bathrooms were larger/bigger area for them so be prepared to wait.
I LOVVVE deru. if you’ve never had the pb cake what are u even doing ??? do u even live in wa if you don’t know abt that cake. classic!!!. also LOVE LOVE LOVE their sweet potato and hummus omg and the garlic knots and the salted caramel coffee and the bruschetta omg. the salad in my opinion is over hyped also annoyed they don’t have ranch but im jsut a sucker for ranch lol. it’s totally a girl dinner place not too many high protein options but we love thsi place sooo much. i take everyone here ! ofc it’s popular for a reason so be prepare to get on waitlist EARLY
Warm, friendly staff and impressively fast service. The food tastes incredibly fresh- truly farm-to-table- and the ambience is super lively. My favorite was the hummus, every ingredient was perfectly crunchy and fresh, and I loved the little pops of pomegranate.
I discovered Deru market looking for a family brunch style with friends. Weirdly located in some lost streets of Kirkland, Deru is a small hidden gem! You definitely should add yourself to the waiting list as this place don t take reservation and you might end up waiting 45 min in the cold before getting a table. Sitting offering is very limited! We managed to get a spot at the bar, in the middle of the action where Baristas craft coffee. Don t expect any service, which is a down for this place, as you will need your phone to scan the QR code, order and pay to complete your order, as if in a fast food ( sorry I am used to table service). However the food come quickly to your table, fresh, tasty and colorful! The kale salad is really fresh and slightly spicy, their fries are divine with the fried sage and rosemary, pizza are very enjoyable. The scone tasted more like a biscuit to me where in London scones are like a soft center bread style cake, and their huge carrot cake is really sweet but full of flavor. I returned there several times for to go avoiding the queue for sitting and the non existant service, the food is very enjoyable and tasty, definitely recommend Deru!
The host was soooo sweet here. Food was also pretty decent I wish they had seasoned the scrambled eggs because the texture was nearly perfect, just barely any salt.
Great spot for brunch. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy, but not greasy at all. The sandwich was also excellent—the bread was well-toasted with a crispy crust and a soft interior, and the sauce was very flavorful. Highly recommend.
4.5 does not cut it. This place is a 10! The food is fantastic. The ingredients are fresh and just delicious. We had several dishes and I can tell you please order EVERYTHING!!!!
Food was amazing. I had the eggs Benedict and it has become my favorite. Flavors are slightly different than the typical eggs benny, but all the flavors went well together. The scramble was so creamy and buttery and so delicious. Lattes are served in a wide cup that it looks like a bowl, but the caramel latte was very well made. The berry bostock was delightful with the almond flavor, but would have been even better warmed up. I think next time, I'll bring one home and heat it up. Brought home a pear brioche (delicious!), black & white muffin (husband loved it) and a huge slice of salted peanut butter chocolate cake (huge hit in my house!). We will be back for more. We saw a pizza being served and it looked incredible. 2/14/2026: Take out order: quick & easy pick up that's a smooth running process. Ordered their Bostock, Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake (seasonal), Farm Scramble, Fennel sausage & kale pizza, Short Stack pancakes (twice now they didn't pack the blueberry compote, butter, and maple syrup. We only get 3 pancakes every time. If you order this to-go, take a peek to make sure it's included before you drive away). Everything was delicious, as usual.
